In a move that caught many tech enthusiasts off guard, POCO, the popular sub-brand of Xiaomi, has quietly rolled out the POCO M7 Pro 5G to global markets. While the launch didn’t come with the usual fanfare, this budget-friendly 5G smartphone is already making waves for its impressive specs, stylish design, and unbeatable price point. For Xiaomi fans and budget-conscious buyers alike, the POCO M7 Pro 5G is shaping up to be a game-changer in the mid-range smartphone segment. Here’s everything you need to know about this silent global release.

A Stealthy Global Debut

Unlike the high-profile launches we’ve come to expect from POCO, the M7 Pro 5G slipped into the global market with minimal buzz. Initially introduced in India earlier this year, the device has now expanded its reach to select international regions, catering to users seeking affordable 5G connectivity without breaking the bank. Available starting at just $179, the POCO M7 Pro 5G combines premium features with a price tag that undercuts many competitors, making it a standout option in 2025’s crowded smartphone landscape.

The silent release strategy might be POCO’s way of letting the product speak for itself. With a focus on performance, entertainment, and sleek aesthetics, this device is poised to attract attention organically—perfect for Xiaomi fans browsing sites like XiaomiForAll.com for the latest updates.

Key Features of the POCO M7 Pro 5G

The POCO M7 Pro 5G is packed with features that rival more expensive smartphones. Here’s a breakdown of what makes it a must-consider device:

1. Powerful MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra Processor

At the heart of the POCO M7 Pro 5G lies the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra, a 6nm chipset designed for efficient performance and seamless multitasking. Whether you’re gaming, streaming, or juggling multiple apps, this processor delivers a smooth experience without draining your battery. For mobile gamers, this makes the M7 Pro 5G an affordable yet capable option.

2. Stunning 120Hz AMOLED Display

The phone sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. With a peak brightness of up to 2100 nits, it’s perfect for outdoor use and immersive entertainment. From binge-watching your favorite shows to scrolling through social media, the vibrant colors and fluid visuals elevate the user experience.

3. Massive 5,110mAh Battery with 45W Fast Charging

Battery life is a highlight, thanks to the 5,110mAh capacity, which ensures all-day usage even under heavy loads. Paired with 45W fast charging (charger included in the box), you can juice up quickly and get back to what matters. This combo is a rare find in the budget segment, giving the M7 Pro 5G an edge over rivals.

4. 50MP AI-Powered Camera

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera, which captures detailed shots in good lighting. While low-light performance may not match flagship standards, it’s more than adequate for casual users. The 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls with ease, supporting 1080p recording at 30fps.

5. HyperOS on Android 14

Running on Xiaomi’s HyperOS based on Android 14, the POCO M7 Pro 5G offers a clean, customizable software experience. POCO promises up to two major Android upgrades, ensuring the phone stays relevant for years to come.

Why the Silent Launch Matters

The POCO M7 Pro 5G’s quiet global rollout could be a strategic move to target price-sensitive markets without overspending on marketing. This approach aligns with the brand’s reputation for delivering high-spec devices at disruptive prices.

Compared to its sibling, the Redmi Note 14 5G, the M7 Pro 5G shares many similarities but stands out with its unique design and slightly tweaked features, catering specifically to POCO’s youthful, performance-driven fanbase.

The POCO M7 Pro 5G starts at $179 for the base model (8GB RAM + 256GB storage), making it one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in its class. Introduction

The POCO F5, a popular mid-range smartphone launched in 2023, has begun receiving the much-anticipated HyperOS 2 update, built on Android 15. This update marks a significant milestone for POCO users, bringing a blend of Xiaomi’s refined HyperOS interface and Google’s latest Android innovations. With rollouts starting in China and expanding globally, here’s everything you need to know about this upgrade.

Rollout Timeline and Regional Updates

  • China Variant (Redmi Note 12 Turbo): The stable HyperOS 2.0 update kicked off recently with build OS2.0.5.0.VMRCNXM. This version integrates Android 15 and introduces Xiaomi’s “Alive Design Philosophy,” focusing on fluid animations and enhanced performance.
  • EEA (European Economic Area): Beta testers in the EEA region received HyperOS 2.0 with build OS2.0.1.0.VMREUXM. The stable rollout for broader European users is expected to follow shortly after testing concludes, likely in April or May 2025.
  • Global Markets: The global stable release is in preparation, with phased deployment anticipated over the coming weeks. Previous patterns suggest a full rollout by mid-2025 for regions like India, Russia, and beyond, depending on testing feedback and regional adjustments.
  • Mi Pilot Program: As with past updates, initial releases are limited to Mi Pilot testers, ensuring stability before a wider launch. Users enrolled in this program are the first to experience the update, with public availability typically lagging by a few weeks.

Key Features of HyperOS 2 with Android 15

  • Refined User Interface: HyperOS 2 introduces smoother animations, a redesigned multitasking UI inspired by iOS, and updated widgets for weather and themes. The “Alive Design Philosophy” emphasizes a visually dynamic experience.
  • Performance Boost: Enhanced RAM management and system optimizations promise faster app loading and seamless transitions, leveraging Android 15’s under-the-hood improvements.
  • AI Enhancements: New AI-driven features include smarter photo and video editing tools, improved scene recognition, and better low-light camera processing, making the POCO F5’s 64MP triple camera setup even more versatile.
  • Security Upgrades: Android 15 brings enhanced app permissions and real-time threat detection, paired with HyperOS 2’s updated privacy dashboard for greater user control.
  • Cross-Ecosystem Connectivity: Improved file transfer speeds between Xiaomi devices, Apple iPhones, and Windows PCs highlight HyperOS 2’s focus on a connected ecosystem.

Technical Details

  • Build Sizes: The update weighs around 6GB for the China variant (upgrading from HyperOS 1) and approximately 5.2GB for EEA beta testers, reflecting the inclusion of Android 15 and new features.
  • Prerequisites: Users need at least 50% battery and a stable internet connection to install. Checking for updates is simple via Settings > About Phone > System Update.
  • Hardware Compatibility: Powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, the POCO F5 is well-equipped to handle HyperOS 2’s demands, ensuring a smooth experience on its 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display.

User Implications and Expectations

  • Upgrade Path: The POCO F5 shipped with MIUI 14 on Android 13 and received HyperOS 1 on Android 14 earlier. HyperOS 2 with Android 15 is its second major OS update, aligning with POCO’s promise of two Android version upgrades for the F series.
  • Future Updates: After this, the device may receive HyperOS 3 in 2026, likely still based on Android 15, marking the end of its major update cycle. Security patches should continue for a while longer.
  • User Sentiment: Early feedback from beta testers highlights appreciation for the smoother UI and AI features, though some report minor bugs like uneven icon spacing or faster battery drain—issues Xiaomi is expected to address in stable releases.

How to Get the Update

  • Manual Check: Navigate to Settings > About Phone > System Update and tap “Check for Updates.”
  • Mi Pilot Access: Enroll in the POCO HyperOS Pilot Tester Program for early access, though this involves potential instability.
  • Manual Installation: Recovery ROMs are available for tech-savvy users willing to sideload the update, with official links provided by Xiaomi for supported regions.

Conclusion

The HyperOS 2 update with Android 15 elevates the POCO F5, blending Xiaomi’s software innovation with Google’s latest OS advancements. As the rollout expands from China to global markets, users can look forward to a refreshed, high-performance experience. Whether you’re a Mi Pilot tester or awaiting the stable release, this update reaffirms the POCO F5’s value in the competitive mid-range segment. The star of the POCO C71 is undoubtedly its 6.88-inch HD+ display—the largest in its segment. With a 120Hz refresh rate, it promises buttery-smooth scrolling and an immersive experience for gaming, streaming, and browsing. Battery: All-Day Endurance

Battery life is a highlight, with the POCO C71 packing a 5,200mAh cell—the largest in its class. POCO claims it retains 80% health even after three years, a bold promise for budget buyers. With 15W fast charging and an included charger, it’s designed to keep up with demanding days, whether you’re streaming, chatting, or working on the go.

Availability and Pricing

The POCO C71 will launch in India on April 4th, exclusively via Flipkart and POCO’s official website. Priced under ₹7,000, it’s positioned as an affordable powerhouse, though exact variants and regional pricing will be confirmed at launch. Given its specs, it’s likely a rebranded Redmi A5 tailored for the Indian market, following Xiaomi’s strategy of offering region-specific value devices.

Certification Details: A Step Closer to Launch

The appearance of the POCO C71 on the SIRIM and NBTC certification platforms is a significant milestone in the smartphone’s journey to launch. These certifications are typically required for devices to be sold in their respective regions, ensuring compliance with local regulatory standards for telecommunications and safety. While the listings don’t reveal an exhaustive list of specifications, they do confirm the device’s existence and suggest that POCO is preparing for a rollout in Southeast Asian markets, including Malaysia and Thailand.

The POCO C71 was also previously spotted on the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification database, further indicating a global release plan. The FCC listing shed light on some key details, including support for 2G/3G/4G connectivity (but not 5G), dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and four storage configurations: 3GB/64GB, 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB. Additionally, the device is expected to ship with Android 15 out of the box, likely layered with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0 interface, making it one of the first budget phones to feature this updated software.

POCO C71’s spotted on the SIRIM and NBTC certification

Is the POCO C71 a Rebranded Redmi A5?

Speculation is rife that the POCO C71 might not be an entirely new device but rather a rebranded version of the Redmi A5, another budget offering from Xiaomi. This theory is supported by similarities in model numbers and specifications spotted across various certification platforms. The Redmi A5, also recently certified by the FCC, shares a similar feature set, suggesting that Xiaomi may be employing its well-known strategy of rebranding devices under different sub-brands to target distinct market segments.

If the POCO C71 is indeed a rebranded Redmi A5, it could inherit some of the latter’s rumored highlights. Reports suggest the Redmi A5 will feature a decent display, reliable performance for its price range, and good camera capabilities—attributes that would align well with POCO’s reputation for delivering value-for-money devices. There’s also talk of optional NFC support, which could be a standout feature in the budget category, enabling contactless payments and other conveniences.

What to Expect from the POCO C71

While concrete details remain scarce, the POCO C71 is shaping up to be a classic POCO offering: affordable, practical, and packed with enough features to appeal to cost-conscious buyers. Based on the FCC certification, the device’s storage options suggest it will cater to a range of needs, from basic users who might opt for the 3GB/64GB variant to those seeking a bit more power with the 6GB/128GB model. The inclusion of Android 15 and HyperOS 2.0 could also provide a smooth, modern software experience, setting it apart from competitors still running older versions.

Given its positioning in the C-series, which typically targets the entry-level market, the POCO C71 is unlikely to boast high-end specs like a flagship processor or 5G connectivity. Instead, it might feature a modest chipset—possibly a MediaTek or Qualcomm Snapdragon processor in the budget range—paired with a large battery and a functional camera setup. These choices would keep costs down while ensuring the phone handles everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, and light gaming with ease.

    Launch Timeline and Market Impact

The model number of the POCO C71, reported as “25028PC03G” (with “2502” potentially indicating a February 2025 release), aligns with speculation that Xiaomi could unveil this device as early as next month. This timeline is consistent with the company’s pattern of refreshing its budget lineup in the first quarter of the year. Posts on X and tech blogs like The Tech Outlook have echoed this sentiment, with some enthusiasts predicting an official announcement in the coming weeks.

If launched in February 2025, the POCO C71 could make waves in the budget smartphone segment, especially in markets like Malaysia, Thailand, and beyond. POCO has built a loyal following by offering devices that punch above their weight, and the C71 could continue this trend, competing with the likes of Realme, Infinix, and Samsung’s A-series in the entry-level space.

    Final Thoughts

The POCO C71’s appearances on the SIRIM and NBTC certification databases have set the stage for what could be another compelling addition to POCO’s lineup. While it may not reinvent the wheel, its potential as a rebranded Redmi A5 with modern software, decent hardware, and an attractive price tag could make it a go-to choice for budget buyers. As we await official confirmation from POCO, the excitement continues to build—will the C71 live up to the brand’s reputation for value? Only time will tell, but for now, all eyes are on Xiaomi’s next move.

Poco M7 5G Officially Launched with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and 120Hz Display

The smartphone market received a fresh jolt of excitement on March 3, 2025, as Poco, Xiaomi’s budget-friendly sub-brand, unveiled the Poco M7 5G in India. Priced aggressively under $120, this entry-level device aims to redefine the budget 5G segment with its Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor and a 120Hz display. Launched exclusively on Flipkart, the Poco M7 5G combines impressive specs with an affordable price tag, making it a compelling choice for cost-conscious consumers seeking modern features. Let’s dive into the details of this new release and evaluate its potential impact.

    Design and Build

The Poco M7 5G sports a refreshed design compared to its predecessor, the Poco M6 5G, featuring a sleek 8.22 mm thick chassis weighing 205 grams. It introduces a distinctive round camera bump, adding a touch of flair to its otherwise minimalist look. Available in Satin Black, Mint Green, and Ocean Blue, the phone carries an IP52 rating, offering protection against dust and water splashes—though it falls short of full waterproofing. The inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot caters to users who value traditional connectivity options.

    Display: A Budget Standout

At the heart of the Poco M7 5G’s appeal is its 6.88-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a significant upgrade from the 90Hz panel of the M6 5G. With a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a peak brightness of 600 nits, it delivers smooth scrolling and decent visibility in bright conditions, thanks to TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing. While the HD+ resolution may not match higher-end 1080p screens, the 120Hz refresh rate positions it as a standout in its price class, especially for gamers and media enthusiasts.

Performance: Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 Power

Powering the Poco M7 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, a 4nm chipset that offers a 20% performance boost over the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ found in the previous model. Paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM (expandable virtually to 12GB) and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage (expandable via microSD), it promises solid multitasking and gaming capabilities. Early benchmarks suggest an AnTuTu score around 450,000, indicating it can handle casual gaming and everyday tasks with ease, though it may struggle with graphically intensive titles at high settings.

    Camera System

The camera setup includes a dual rear configuration led by a 50MP Sony IMX852 main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, designed to capture detailed shots even in low-light conditions. An unspecified secondary lens complements it, likely for depth or macro purposes. The 8MP front camera, housed in a small notch, handles selfies and video calls competently. While not a flagship camera system, Poco’s focus on AI enhancements aims to improve photo quality, making it a decent option for the price.

    Battery and Charging

A robust 5160mAh battery fuels the Poco M7 5G, supporting up to 18W fast charging, with a 33W charger included in the box—a generous touch for a budget device. This capacity should provide a full day of moderate use, potentially stretching to two days with lighter tasks, aligning with the needs of budget users who prioritize longevity over speed.

    Software and Updates

Running on Xiaomi’s HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box, the Poco M7 5G offers a modern software experience with promises of two major Android updates and four years of security patches. This commitment to long-term support is a significant draw for budget buyers, though the presence of pre-installed apps may require some cleanup.

    Pricing and Availability

Priced at ₹9,999 ($115 USD) for the 6GB + 128GB variant and ₹10,999 ($126 USD) for the 8GB + 128GB model, the Poco M7 5G is a steal for its feature set. A special launch-day offer drops these prices further, with sales commencing on March 7, 2025, exclusively on Flipkart. While no global launch details have been confirmed, its debut in India suggests a potential rollout to other markets soon.

    Analysis and Market Impact

The Poco M7 5G challenges the narrative that budget phones must compromise on key features. Its 120Hz display and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset outpace many rivals in the sub-$150 category, putting pressure on competitors like Realme and Samsung. However, the HD+ resolution and modest 18W charging may leave power users wanting more. For the average consumer, though, it delivers exceptional value, potentially redefining expectations in the budget 5G space.

    Conclusion

The Poco M7 5G is a bold entry into the affordable smartphone market, blending a large, smooth display, solid performance, and long-term software support at an unbeatable price. Whether it’s gaming, streaming, or daily tasks, it punches above its weight. As it hits shelves in India, all eyes will be on Poco to see if this model can replicate the brand’s past success globally. Are you tempted by this budget 5G marvel? Let us know your thoughts!

Inside, users will find the smartphone, a specially crafted Iron Man helmet case, and a striking red USB cable. The SIM ejection tool even resembles the Arc Reactor token, adding a fun touch.

For those opting for the standard version, the package includes a white USB cable, a protective black case, and, notably, no charger in the EU retail bundle—though Asian markets may still include one. As always, a thin protective film covers the screen, ensuring it arrives in pristine condition.

    Design and Build Quality

The Poco X7 Pro features a flat design that enhances grip and comfort, setting it apart from the curved models in the lineup. It boasts a Gorilla Glass 7i front and a matte plastic back, contributing to its modern aesthetic. The dual-tone back panel features a combination of polished and matte finishes, creating an eye-catching look.

    Battery Life and Charging Speed

The Poco X7 Pro houses a substantial 6,000mAh battery, which is expected to deliver impressive longevity. Our testing revealed an active usage score of 12 hours and 43 minutes, which is decent but not extraordinary for a device of this caliber. Video streaming and calls perform well, while web browsing and gaming yield average results.

Charging is where the Poco X7 Pro truly shines. With support for 90W HyperCharge technology, the device can achieve 49% charge in just 15 minutes, 83% in 30 minutes, and a full charge in approximately 44 minutes. This rapid charging capability ensures that users spend less time tethered to a wall socket.

While the battery life is satisfactory, it could be improved given the capacity. Users should consider their daily usage patterns when assessing the device’s performance.

    Audio Quality and Connectivity

The Poco X7 Pro features stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos, enhancing the audio experience for music and media playback. The speakers deliver clear sound with a good balance of highs and lows. While the top speaker also serves as an earpiece, it may lack some depth compared to dedicated audio setups.

In terms of connectivity, the device supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. The inclusion of an IR blaster adds another layer of functionality, allowing users to control various devices from their phone.

Low-light performance is commendable, thanks to the Night Mode feature that automatically engages in darker environments.

    Selfie Performance

The 20MP selfie camera, however, leaves room for improvement. While it captures decent images, they can appear soft and lack detail. Users seeking high-quality selfies may find this aspect disappointing.

    Software Experience

Running on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, the Poco X7 Pro offers a smooth user experience with several new features. Xiaomi promises at least three major OS updates and four years of security patches, ensuring longevity for the device.

With eight CPU cores, including a Prime core clocked at 3.25GHz, this device handles demanding tasks with ease. The accompanying Mali-G720 MC7 GPU ensures smooth graphics performance for gaming and multimedia applications.

The performance benchmarks place the Poco X7 Pro among the top contenders in its price range, showcasing its capability to compete with flagship devices.

In conclusion, the Poco X7 Pro emerges as an outstanding mid-range smartphone that offers exceptional value for its price. With its stylish design, vibrant AMOLED display, and powerful performance, it is a strong contender in the competitive smartphone market. The rapid charging capabilities and robust battery life further enhance its appeal.

However, the camera performance—particularly the selfie capabilities—leaves some room for improvement. Despite these shortcomings, the Poco X7 Pro stands out as one of the best smartphones available for around €400, making it a worthy addition to your shortlist.

5 Reasons Why Poco X7 Pro Outshines Poco F6

The Poco X7 Pro is now taking center stage, especially for gamers seeking top-tier performance in a smartphone. While the Poco F6 has made waves in the mid-range market, the new Poco X7 Pro establishes itself as a superior choice with advanced hardware and features. Let’s delve into the key reasons why the Poco X7 Pro eclipses its predecessor, the Poco F6.

    A Premium Design That Impresses

The Poco X7 Pro showcases an innovative design language that elevates its aesthetic appeal compared to the Poco F6. With a striking dual-textured eco-leather back and curved edges, this device feels luxurious and comfortable to hold. In contrast, the Poco F6’s plastic back fails to deliver the same premium experience.

Moreover, the X7 Pro is the first in the Poco series to carry an IP68 rating, making it resistant to both dust and water. This robustness adds a layer of durability that you won’t find in the Poco F6, ensuring your investment is better protected.

    Display Enhancements for Enthusiasts

While both models boast a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Poco X7 Pro takes its visual experience further. With a peak brightness of 3200 nits—enhanced from the F6’s 2400 nits— users can enjoy clearer and brighter visuals even in direct sunlight.

Additionally, the X7 Pro features a higher touch sampling rate of 2560Hz versus the 2160Hz found on the Poco F6. Thanks to Wet Touch technology, users experience superior control, whether their fingers are wet or oily.

    Performance and Cooling Innovations

The powerhouse of the Poco X7 Pro lies within its MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, which outperforms the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in the Poco F6. This means enhanced speed and responsiveness for mobile gaming.

Moreover, its larger cooling system, with a surface area of 5,000mm² and the POCO 3D IceLoop System, optimizes heat dissipation during intense gaming sessions, ensuring a smooth experience without overheating.

    Ultimate Battery Capacity

Regarding battery life, the Poco X7 Pro sets a new standard with its impressive 6,550mAh capacity, making it the largest battery available in any Xiaomi device. In comparison, the Poco F6 houses a more modest 5,000mAh battery.

While both models share a 90W USB-C fast-charging capability, the X7 Pro also supports reverse wired charging, adding versatility to how you manage your device on the go.

    Future Proof with OS Updates

Both devices promise three Android updates, but the Poco X7 Pro gives users an edge with a built-in advantage. Launching with Android 15 means it will receive the upcoming Android 18, whereas the Poco F6 won’t reach the same level. This extended support is crucial for users who value new features and improvements in software.

Choosing between the Poco F6 and Poco X7 Pro can be pivotal for buyers leaning toward innovation. The new model certainly packs more punch in terms of usability and performance, making it a compelling choice.

Poco X7 Pro vs Poco F6

Poco X7 Pro comes with significant benefits in design, performance, battery, and future updates that will enhance user experience. It’s a powerhouse that should not be overlooked by anyone in the market for a new smartphone.

Is the Poco X7 Pro Your Next Smartphone Upgrade?

Poco recently launched the standout Poco X7 Pro, aimed at technology enthusiasts looking for value. This latest device boasts impressive specifications, including a 120Hz OLED display, MediaTek’s cutting-edge Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, and an enormous 6550mAh battery. But for those already using a Poco smartphone or a competing device within the same price bracket, the crucial question arises: should you upgrade to the X7 Pro? Let’s delve into this.

Display and Design: Elevating Visual Experiences

The Poco X7 Pro features a stunning 6.67-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This technology guarantees fluid scrolling and eye-catching visuals. With a peak brightness of 3200 nits, users can enjoy unmatched visibility, even under bright sunlight. Additionally, this display supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, enhancing your viewing experience significantly. Equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, the device offers improved durability compared to its predecessors.

In terms of aesthetics, the X7 Pro provides three appealing color options: Poco Yellow, Nebula Green, and Obsidian Black. The Poco Yellow variant employs a vegan leather finish, which adds a touch of luxury. Moreover, it boasts water and dust-proof certifications—IP66 + IP68 + IP69—making it one of the most resilient models available in this price segment.

    Performance: Unleashing Potential

Powered by the Dimensity 8400 Ultra SoC, the X7 Pro is a powerhouse. Built on a 4nm process, this chip delivers excellent performance and energy efficiency. Users can choose configurations with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, enabling smooth multitasking and gaming experiences. It also incorporates a 5000mm² stainless steel VC cooling system with innovative 3D IceLoop technology, keeping the device cool during heavy usage.

For gamers and power users, the X7 Pro significantly outperforms last year’s X6 Pro. It comes pre-installed with Android 15 and Xiaomi HyperOS 2, introducing several AI-driven functionalities, such as AI Notes and AI Recorder, enhancing productivity and convenience.

    Camera and Photography Capabilities

The camera system of the X7 Pro includes a dual-camera setup with a 50MP Sony LTY-600 as the primary sensor, complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. This configuration supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and can record 4K videos at 60fps. A 20MP front camera ensures sharp selfies.

When compared to the X6 Pro’s 64MP main camera, the X7 Pro offers superior image quality, especially in low-light conditions, thanks to its advanced sensor. It’s a significant enhancement for photography enthusiasts seeking exceptional quality.

    Battery and Charging Features

Holding the record for the largest battery in any Poco device, the X7 Pro is equipped with a 6550mAh powerhouse. Paired with 90W fast charging capabilities, the phone can charge from 0% to 100% in just 45 minutes. Users can expect over 1600 charge cycles, ensuring long-lasting performance. In contrast, the X6 Pro features a 5000mAh battery and has 67W fast charging, which, while decent, cannot compete with the latest offering.

    Pricing and Justification for Upgrade

Retail pricing starts at Rs. 27,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model and Rs. 29,999 for the 12GB + 256GB version. Although the X6 Pro might seem like a more budget-friendly option, the X7 Pro justifies its higher price with remarkable upgrades in display, camera, battery life, and overall durability.

    Should You Make the Leap?

For those owning an older Poco device or competing mid-range smartphone, the X7 Pro represents a compelling upgrade. Its advanced features in performance, display, battery life, and build quality make it a robust investment. However, if you’re currently satisfied with the X6 Pro’s capabilities, the transition might not be urgent, unless the upgraded screen, larger battery, and enhanced waterproofing are paramount for your needs. In summary, the X7 Pro provides excellent value, positioning itself as a formidable contender in the mid-range market.

The Turbo 4 and X7 Pro are expected to share identical hardware, ensuring that global users experience the same quality and performance as their Chinese counterparts. However, the Poco X7 Pro may include slight software tweaks or additional regional features to cater to international users.

    Potential Launch Timeline and Availability

Fans and tech enthusiasts alike are keenly awaiting its features and specifications, as Poco continues to innovate within the smartphone market.

    What We Know So Far

With advancements in camera technology, battery life, and display quality, this model appears to be designed for those who desire high performance at an affordable price. The Poco brand has become synonymous with providing exceptional value, and this upcoming release is expected to uphold those standards.

What Features Could the Poco X7 Pro Include?

Speculations surrounding the Poco X7 Pro include potential enhancements in its camera system, possibly featuring high-resolution sensors capable of stunning photography. Additionally, an upgraded processor is expected, ensuring smooth performance whether for gaming or multitasking. Battery capacity enhancements could also significantly improve the user experience, allowing for extended usage without frequent recharging.

Poco to Shut Down Website on December 31st: What’s Next for Users?

Fans of the budget-friendly Poco brand should prepare for a significant change. On December 31, 2024, Poco will officially shut down its website (po.co), including all related regional sites like the UK (/uk) and France (/fr). However, Poco isn’t going away. All its products, services, and customer support will transition to Xiaomi’s official website (mi.com). This shift represents a major consolidation of Poco into Xiaomi’s broader ecosystem. Poco website closure

    Poco website closure

Transition of Poco to Xiaomi’s Ecosystem

The transition begins on October 21, 2024, which means that after this date, you won’t be able to purchase Poco products directly from the po.co website. Instead, users will find Poco products and services under Xiaomi’s umbrella. While this move might seem surprising to some, given Xiaomi’s emphasis on distinguishing its brands – Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco – it’s a logical step toward streamlining its online presence.

For Poco users, the experience will remain seamless. Xiaomi will ensure that all product offerings, customer support, and existing services smoothly transfer to its website (mi.com/global). Users can expect no major disruptions during this migration process.

What Happens to Loyalty Points and Existing Orders?

Loyalty programs, including Poco Points, will not disappear. Poco has confirmed that existing loyalty points will transfer to Xiaomi’s ecosystem. Similarly, any active coupons will be reissued by December 12, 2024. Furthermore, all previous orders, shipment tracking information, and even user reviews from the Poco website will migrate to the Xiaomi platform. Poco users won’t need to take any additional steps, as this process will occur automatically.

    December 31, 2024Complete shutdown of po.co

    Poco Store App Discontinuation

Unfortunately, the Poco Store app will not be part of this migration. Once the po.co website shuts down, the app will no longer be functional. Users trying to access Poco’s site after December 31 will be automatically redirected to Xiaomi’s corresponding page.

This transition marks a step toward unifying Xiaomi’s online presence. Although Xiaomi announced Poco as an independent brand in 2020, Poco has operated closely alongside Xiaomi, with its products resembling those from the Redmi lineup. Therefore, integrating Poco fully into Xiaomi’s ecosystem makes sense from a strategic standpoint.

    Poco website closure

Impact on Poco Users: What to Expect?

For Poco users, the change should feel minimal. Xiaomi has ensured that customer support and product offerings will remain uninterrupted throughout the transition. This means Poco users can still enjoy their devices and services without significant changes.

    Key points to remember:

    • Loyalty programs: Poco Points and loyalty rewards remain valid and transition to Xiaomi.
    • Customer support: You’ll continue receiving support via Xiaomi’s official channels.
    • Products: Poco products will remain available on Xiaomi’s website, offering the same quality you’ve come to expect.

Although the Poco Store app won’t survive the transition, Xiaomi’s comprehensive platform offers all the functionalities users need. By integrating Poco into Xiaomi’s larger ecosystem, the company aims to streamline user experience across all its sub-brands.

    Conclusion: Poco’s Future

While Poco’s standalone website will close, the brand will continue to thrive under Xiaomi’s umbrella. The shift to mi.com should enhance the overall user experience by centralizing all Xiaomi-related products and services in one place. Poco’s loyal user base can rest assured that they’ll continue receiving the same level of service, support, and product quality they’ve always enjoyed.

This decision is unlikely to have a negative impact on most users. Moreover, Poco India, which operates under the poco.in domain, seems unaffected by this change, maintaining its current operations for now.

    Poco website closure

Poco will shut down its website on December 31, 2024, and transition its products and services to Xiaomi’s official platform.

Both versions are expected to share nearly identical specifications. The official launch of the Redmi Turbo 4 is set for the second quarter of 2025, with just eight to nine months left until it hits the market. XiaomiTime recently discovered the POCO F7 model, and now, Gizmochina has spotted the Redmi Turbo 4 in the IMEI database, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come.

    IMEI Database Insights

The IMEI database reveals that the Redmi Turbo 4 carries the model number “2412DRT0AC.” The “C” at the end of this number suggests that the smartphone will be exclusive to the Chinese market. However, global users should not worry. Xiaomi plans to release this device internationally under the POCO F7 name. The official announcement for the POCO F7 series is expected in May 2025, positioning Xiaomi strategically to capture global markets.

    Global Availability and Model Numbers

This differentiation underscores Xiaomi’s strategy of offering specific versions tailored to different markets, ensuring the device meets local expectations and regulations.

The device will likely feature a modern, bezel-less design combined with a high-resolution OLED display that offers vibrant colors and smooth visuals. Additionally, this display could support a high refresh rate, making it an excellent choice for gamers and multimedia enthusiasts.

    Camera and Battery: Key Improvements

    Advanced Camera Technology

The camera system of the Redmi Turbo 4 is also expected to receive significant upgrades. Xiaomi could equip this model with a multi-lens primary camera capable of capturing professional-quality photos. With the aid of optimized image processing software, users could take impressive shots even in challenging lighting conditions. This technological advancement underscores Xiaomi’s commitment to delivering devices that excel not only in performance but also in their ability to capture unforgettable moments.

    Battery Life and Charging Speed

Another critical aspect of the Redmi Turbo 4 will be its battery. Xiaomi will likely equip the device with a battery capacity of at least 5000 mAh. Furthermore, this model will probably feature fast-charging capabilities, allowing users to recharge their smartphones in minimal time. This feature is particularly appealing to users who rely on long battery life to stay connected throughout the day.

Will HyperOS Arrive on the POCO X3 Pro? What We Know from Xiaomi

If you own a POCO X3 Pro, you’re probably wondering if it will update to HyperOS. This has become one of the most frequently asked questions we’ve received in recent months, and for many, it will determine whether to upgrade their smartphone or not. HyperOS has become one of the most anticipated updates, with Xiaomi managing to reignite interest with a customization layer that promises not only better performance and fluidity than MIUI but also overall smoother and error-free operation.

HyperOS: What’s the Buzz All About?

According to Xiaomi, HyperOS has been developed from scratch, taking into account the flaws of MIUI. Additionally, artificial intelligence plays a more significant role, implemented in the form of new tools and customization options. All of this, alongside a facelift, achieves a much more minimalist and intuitive interface.

The Journey of POCO X3 Pro

The POCO X3 Pro was unveiled on March 22, 2021. It’s been almost three years since then, and yet it remains very relevant not only among the brand’s most loyal user base but also in the market. This is despite the introduction of the POCO X6 Pro 5G, which already comes with HyperOS. If we delve into the Xiaomi Security Center, we can find all the smartphones that no longer have official support. Fortunately, the POCO X3 Pro is not among them, but this doesn’t mean its update is imminent.

    Insight from MIUIROM

MIUIROM makes it clear that Xiaomi hasn’t started any HyperOS testing for this model. In other words, there’s no internal beta linking this new customization layer with the device. In summary, Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed that the POCO X3 Pro has reached the end of its life cycle, but it also hasn’t initiated any HyperOS testing for it. It’s most likely that the POCO X3 Pro will cease to receive official support this year and, consequently, will fade away with MIUI 14.

    Conclusion: What Lies Ahead?

It’s essential to note that since its debut, the POCO X3 Pro has been updated not only from MIUI 12 but also from Android 11. While there’s uncertainty about whether HyperOS will land on the POCO X3 Pro, it’s clear that Xiaomi is continually striving to enhance the user experience across its product lineup.

    POCO X6: A Comprehensive Review

    POCO X6 Complete Review

    Design and Build Quality

The design of the POCO X6 may not be groundbreaking, but it carries an iconic appeal with its distinctive rear camera setup. The frame of the phone, made of plastic, features flat sides for better grip. While the absence of an oleophobic coating on the rear panel makes it prone to smudges, the overall dimensions of 161.15 x 74.24 x 7.98 millimeters and a weight of 184 grams make it comfortable to handle. Available in black, blue, and white marble effect finishes, it also boasts an IP54 certification for dust and splash resistance.

    Display Performance

The POCO X6 sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED Flow display with thin bezels, offering a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Protected by Corning Gorilla Victus glass, the display delivers vibrant colors and deep blacks, enhanced by features like HDR support and a peak brightness of 1800 nits. Despite the claimed HDR Pro support, HDR videos on YouTube are not recognized, a minor drawback considering the overall visual experience offered by the display.

    Powerful Hardware

Under the hood, the POCO X6 packs a punch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen2 processor, Adreno 710 GPU, and up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM coupled with 256/512 GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. This hardware configuration ensures smooth performance, whether you’re multitasking or gaming, with minimal lag and efficient heat dissipation thanks to the graphene-based cooling system.

    Audio and Connectivity

The device supports Dual 5G connectivity, ensuring fast and reliable network performance. With features like VoLTE and WiFi calling, along with NFC and Bluetooth 5.2 support, the POCO X6 offers comprehensive connectivity options. While the stereo speakers deliver decent audio quality, the presence of Dolby ATMOS and Hi-Res Audio certification enhances the listening experience, especially when using wired headphones via the 3.5mm audio jack.

    Software Experience

Running on Android 13 with MIUI 14 out of the box, the POCO X6 provides a familiar user experience with added customizations and optimizations. However, the presence of bloatware and intrusive ads detracts from the overall software experience, highlighting the need for a cleaner interface and timely updates.

    Camera Performance

Equipped with a 64 MP primary camera with OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro sensor, the POCO X6 delivers satisfactory results in various lighting conditions. While the primary camera captures detailed images with good dynamic range, the ultrawide and macro lenses offer versatility but lack the same level of clarity. The 16 MP front camera produces decent selfies and supports 1080p video recording.

    Long-lasting Battery

With a 5100 mAh battery onboard, the this POCO ensures all-day usage with fast charging support, capable of replenishing the battery from 0 to 100% in approximately 44 minutes. Whether you’re browsing the web, streaming videos, or making calls, the device offers reliable battery life, thanks to efficient power management.

    Pricing and Conclusion

The POCO X6 is priced starting from €299, offering a competitive package with its blend of performance, features, and design. However, certain drawbacks like the lack of an oleophobic coating, intrusive software, and inconsistent camera performance may deter some users. Overall, while the POCO X6 delivers on several fronts, it falls short of being a standout device in its price segment.

Power-Packed Performance at an Affordable Price

In the world of smartphones, the new POCO C40 stands out as a true game-changer, especially for those seeking exceptional value. As the latest addition to Xiaomi’s lineup, the POCO C40 offers an extraordinary combination of features at a price point that’s hard to ignore. We, at “Xiaomi for All“, are excited to dive into what makes the POCO C40 a remarkable choice for smartphone enthusiasts.

    Big Screen, Bigger Battery

The POCO C40 boasts the largest screen in Xiaomi‘s inventory, a mammoth 6.71-inch IPS display, perfect for media consumption. While it sticks to an HD+ resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate, the emphasis here is clearly on providing a spacious viewing experience. The true highlight, however, is its colossal 6000 mAh battery. This isn’t just a number; it’s a promise of endurance that will easily power through a day’s heavy usage and beyond. The 18W charging support, while not the fastest, ensures that you’re not tethered to a power outlet for too long.

    Hardware Choices: Striking a Balance

Under the hood, the POCO C40 is an intriguing mix. It opts for the JLQ JR10 processor, a lesser-known but competent player in the chipset arena. This choice reflects POCO’s commitment to balancing cost and performance. With options of 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB RAM and storage configurations, there’s flexibility depending on your needs. And yes, there’s microSD support for extra space.

Software and Camera: The Essentials Covered

Running on MIUI 13 based on Android 11, the POCO C40 delivers a smooth, user-friendly experience. This software package, coupled with POCO’s customizations, makes for a nifty and responsive interface. Un In-depth Review of the POCO X5 5G

When it comes to recommending a mobile phone in the €300 range with long-lasting battery life and a large screen, one of the first brands that comes to mind is POCO. This company made a strong entry into the mid-range mobile phone market with well-crafted devices boasting attractive specifications and prices that appeal to many consumers. Prime examples include the POCO F1 and POCO F3.

As time has passed, POCO has expanded its catalog, and we now have several different device ranges available. To further evolve the POCO X4 Pro, the company has introduced its first offerings for 2023: the POCO X5 5G and POCO X5 PRO 5G.

I’ve been testing the POCO X5 Pro for several days to see how it performs in various usage scenarios. The first thing I want to highlight about it is that its specifications sheet is somewhat lower than what I expected for 2023. Is this a downside? Does it perform well? Let me tell you.

    Review POCO X5 5G

Design and Display: Simple Yet Effective

The POCO X5 5G is a large phone, with dimensions that we have come to expect in the mid-range phone market. It features a 6.67-inch display dominating the front, making the phone nearly 166 mm tall. Despite this, POCO has done an excellent job of keeping the weight down, with the device weighing only 180 grams and having a thickness of less than 8 mm.

These specifications result in a comfortable and lightweight user experience, allowing for one-handed use without any issues. The phone feels great in the hand, partly due to its matte finish on the back. This model is available in three different colors: green, blue, and black, and I’ve been using the black version during my testing. The standout feature in this area is the camera module located in the upper left corner, which gives the rear a look reminiscent of the POCO X4 GT.

One of the standout features of the POCO X5 5G is its display. The company has finally opted to include AMOLED technology in the base models of this phone range, a demand that was made for previous models. This means you can enjoy the display of the POCO X5 5G with any content and application, thanks to its Full HD+ resolution spread across the 6.67-inch screen. Furthermore, it is a very fluid panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, which you will need to enable, as the phone comes with 60Hz activated by default.

Additionally, the panel boasts a generous brightness capacity, reaching a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The automatic brightness adjustment works perfectly, adapting seamlessly to all lighting conditions, performing well even in bright outdoor environments.

    Review POCO X5 5G

Reserved in Power, Insufficient in Software

Taking a look at the specifications sheet, we see that the POCO X5 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 695 processor from Qualcomm. This choice surprised and puzzled me, as we are dealing with a processor that was released in October 2021, and there are currently more up-to-date models available for this type of range and device. Perhaps I would have liked to see a MediaTek Dimensity series processor or a more powerful Qualcomm model like the Snapdragon 778+ – a processor that we do find in the POCO X5 Pro 5G.

Nevertheless, after conducting tests with this POCO X5, I believe that the Snapdragon 695 is sufficient for handling most tasks on the phone, even demanding ones like playing powerful games such as ‘Call of Duty: Mobile’ or ‘Asphalt 9’, albeit at lower graphic quality settings. In these situations, the phone performs perfectly, without lag or overheating.

On the other hand, it’s a shame that I cannot say the same about the system’s performance. At the moment, the software version I tested on this POCO X5 5G is MIUI 13 for POCO, Xiaomi’s customized skin for these systems, based on Android 12. Once again, I have to say that MIUI tends to consume a significant amount of the phone’s performance, resulting in occasional stutters in overall fluidity, longer-than-usual wait times, and occasional hiccups in native apps, such as the camera app. Unfortunately, this is something I’ve mentioned in the past with other mid-range phones, especially many devices within Xiaomi’s Redmi Note family.

For this reason, my experience with the performance of this POCO X5 5G has been bittersweet. It’s surprising how well it can handle many tasks and manage heat, but it feels sluggish due to the software. Xiaomi needs to urgently improve MIUI, as it is a capable and promising skin but appears to be poorly optimized on devices with more modest specifications. We’ll see if this can be fixed in future software updates.

    Review POCO X5 5G

Camera Capabilities and Expected Battery Life

Now, let’s discuss the camera capabilities of this POCO X5 5G, which, as expected, is not the phone’s main selling point. The camera setup of the Poco X5 5G includes:

    • 48MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture
    • 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 118° field of view
    • 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture
    • 13MP front-facing camera with f/2.45 aperture

As we can see, it’s a relatively simple camera setup on paper, which fits the standards of mid-range mobile phones. In general, the cameras of the POCO X5 5G perform adequately when the scene is well-lit. In well-lit environments, whether natural or artificial, you can capture decent snapshots in automatic mode.

The 48MP sensor is a good ally for capturing maximum possible detail in the scenes you want to photograph, as long as you have the 48MP mode activated. Without it, the quality of details decreases, although not dramatically

. However, when the lighting conditions deteriorate, the camera struggles. It tends to introduce a lot of noise and softness, especially in low-light scenarios.

The ultra-wide-angle camera is functional, but you should not expect it to offer the same quality as the main sensor. It can be useful for capturing landscapes or group photos when you need to fit more subjects into the frame.

The macro camera, like most mid-range devices, serves more as a decorative feature than a practical one. While it can capture close-up shots, it’s not particularly impressive, and the results can be hit or miss.

The 13MP front-facing camera does an adequate job for selfies and video calls. It captures decent detail and skin tones in well-lit conditions but struggles a bit in low-light situations.

Battery life is a strong point for the POCO X5 5G, thanks to its 5,000mAh battery capacity. With moderate usage, you can easily get through a full day, and even with heavier usage, you should still have enough juice left by the end of the day. The included 33W fast charging support is also handy, allowing you to quickly recharge the device when needed.

    Review POCO X5 5G

Software and User Experience: MIUI 13 Needs Refinement

As mentioned earlier, the POCO X5 5G runs MIUI 13 for POCO, which is based on Android 12. While MIUI offers a wide range of features and customization options, it can feel somewhat bloated and less optimized on mid-range devices. You’ll encounter occasional stutters and slowdowns in the user interface, which can be frustrating.

Additionally, the presence of bloatware and Xiaomi’s own apps that can’t be uninstalled might not sit well with some users. However, if you’re willing to put up with these issues and take the time to customize and optimize the device, MIUI does offer a rich feature set and various customization options.

On the positive side, MIUI 13 brings some improvements to privacy and security features, including the ability to grant temporary permissions for sensitive data like location and microphone access. It also provides enhanced privacy settings and controls, giving users more transparency and control over their data.

The POCO X5 5G also includes an IR blaster, which is a handy feature for controlling various electronic devices like TVs and air conditioners using your smartphone.

    Review POCO X5 5G

    5G Connectivity and Other Features

As the name suggests, the POCO X5 5G supports 5G connectivity, which is a welcome addition in the mid-range segment. While 5G networks are still expanding in many regions, having a 5G-enabled device ensures future-proofing, especially if you plan to keep your phone for several years.

Other notable features include NFC support, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and face unlock for biometric authentication. The fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate, making it a convenient way to unlock the device. Face unlock is also reasonably quick and works well in good lighting conditions.

The device also boasts IP53 water resistance, offering some protection against splashes and dust. While it’s not fully waterproof, this feature adds some peace of mind for everyday usage.

Conclusion: A Capable Mid-Range Phone with Software Quirks

The POCO X5 5G is a capable mid-range phone with a focus on delivering a good display, long-lasting battery life, and 5G connectivity. It performs well for most tasks, including gaming, but is let down by the software optimization of MIUI 13, which results in occasional performance hiccups and a less-than-smooth user experience.

The camera system is serviceable, providing decent results in well-lit conditions, but struggles in low-light situations. If photography is a top priority, you may want to consider other options in this price range.

Overall, the POCO X5 5G offers a compelling package at its price point, but it’s essential to be aware of its software limitations. If you can overlook these quirks and are looking for a phone with a great display, long battery life, and 5G support, it’s worth considering. However, if you prioritize software optimization and camera performance, you may want to explore other options in the mid-range segment.

Poco X6 5G: Global Edition of Redmi Note 13 Pro

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco, known for its mid-range and budget devices, recently introduced the Poco C65, an entry-level smartphone. Now, the tech giant is gearing up to launch several new devices, including the much-anticipated Poco X6 and Poco F6 series. These devices are expected to make their debut in the first quarter of 2024. A recent leak has provided significant insights into the upcoming Poco X6 5G, marking an exciting development in the global smartphone market.

The Evolution of the Poco X6 5G

Back in September, tipster Kacper Skrzypek had indicated that the Redmi Note 13 Pro would enter the global market under the same name. He also hinted that the Note 13 Pro would be released as a Poco device for global consumers, though the exact name was not disclosed at that time.

In a recent update from Skrzypek, it’s been revealed that the Note 13 Pro will be launched globally as the Poco X6 5G. This suggests that the X6 Pro will likely share the same specifications as the Redmi model, albeit with a distinct rear design. The Poco X6 5G is expected to feature a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution (1220 x 2712 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Powering the device will be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, coupled with a 5,100mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging.

    Unparalleled Performance and Camera Capabilities

In China, the Redmi Note 13 Pro is available with up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. As for the Poco X6 5G, it might come with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage.

The Note 13 Pro features a 16-megapixel front camera and a triple rear camera setup, including a 200-megapixel main sensor (with OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The new revelation suggests that the Poco X6 5G may instead sport an OmniVision OV64B main sensor, replacing the 200-megapixel sensor. While the price of the Poco X6 is still unknown, it is expected to be slightly higher than the Redmi Note 13 Pro’s price in China.

Xiaomi’s POCO F5 Pro: The Ultimate Mid-Range Powerhouse

A New Benchmark in Value and Performance

The POCO F5 Pro, the latest flagship from Xiaomi‘s POCO lineup, breaks new ground in the mid-range smartphone market. Building on the legacy of its predecessors, it combines high-end features with an attractive price point, making it an exceptional choice for tech enthusiasts seeking performance without breaking the bank.

    Technical Specifications: A Deep Dive

Boasting a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and Quad HD+ resolution, the POCO F5 Pro promises a vibrant and fluid display experience. This smartphone, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, ensures top-notch performance, whether for gaming or multitasking. Available in two configurations, 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB, it caters to various user needs.

The camera setup, featuring a 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro camera, coupled with a 16MP front camera, promises to capture moments with clarity and precision. The 5,160mAh battery with 67W fast charging and 30W wireless charging capabilities ensures you stay powered throughout the day.

Design and Display: A Mixed Bag of Aesthetics and Excellence

    Design Aspects: Room for Improvement

The POCO F5 Pro, while flaunting a sleek design with flat edges and a sturdy button layout, falls a bit short in its choice of materials. The plastic bezels and glossy glass back may not appeal to all, especially when compared to its predecessor, the POCO F3. However, the phone’s grip and overall build quality receive commendations.

    Display: A Visual Treat

The front of the POCO F5 Pro is adorned with a display that demands attention. The AMOLED panel’s Quad HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, combined with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ compatibility, offer an immersive viewing experience. The screen’s 1,400 nits peak brightness and excellent viewing angles add to its appeal, making it one of the phone’s strongest assets.

Performance and Battery Life: Power Meets Endurance

Peak Performance with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

At its core, the POCO F5 Pro features the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, delivering flagship-level performance. Supported by ample RAM and storage, it effortlessly handles demanding applications and games. However, it’s worth noting that the device can get quite warm during intensive use, although the vapor chamber cooling system does an admirable job of managing heat.

    Exceptional Battery Life

The 5,160mAh battery is a standout feature, offering extensive usage times. Whether it’s gaming, 4K recording, or media playback, the phone consistently delivers impressive screen-on time. The 67W fast charging and 30W wireless charging further enhance the user experience by ensuring quick power-ups.

POCO F5 Pro Camera: A Surprising Leap Forward

The POCO F5 Pro’s camera system marks a significant improvement over its predecessors. The main camera captures detailed and color-accurate shots, although it occasionally struggles with dynamic range. The ultra-wide lens, while adequate, reveals its limitations in edge sharpness and low-light performance.

Portrait mode impresses with accurate subject separation and pleasing bokeh effects. Night photography, supported by an automatic night mode, produces respectable results, albeit with some loss of shadow detail.

The video capabilities are noteworthy, with 8K recording at 24 FPS, although the front camera is limited to 1080p. While not groundbreaking, the video performance is satisfactory for most users.

Conclusion: A Potent Blend of Price and Performance

The POCO F5 Pro represents a significant step forward for Xiaomi in the mid-range segment. It offers an impressive array of features typically found in higher-priced models, such as a high-resolution AMOLED display, robust processor, and a versatile camera setup. While there’s room for improvement in design and thermal management, the device excels in performance, battery life, and display quality.

Xiaomi continues to redefine what users can expect from a mid-range smartphone, and the POCO F5 Pro is a testament to this commitment. It’s an excellent choice for those seeking a high-performance device without the premium price tag.
